We share the same passion for Australian-made products, that are built to the highest standards to deliver the best output for you.

In this video, MadMatt looks back at the first set of spotties that he got from us, over 10 years ago which he put on his first 80 series, and continues to run on one of his current vehicles. He knew back then that our lights were built to last, something that was proved during a trip to the Victorian High Country with his son Jesse.

He also speaks to the developments and innovations that we’ve made on our lights over the last 10 years and looks at the difference a decade makes in terms of technology, and takes a look in detail at our latest Nitro Maxx 180 Driving Lights, to show you just why we’re so well known for making the best LED driving lights around.

So sit back and watch, as MadMatt compares and contrasts a set of our driving lights that he has owned for 10 years, with our latest and greatest version. Learn how we’ve added to the design, and technology and look to offer you the best-performing driving lights around, that will last you a lifetime.

Transcript:

MadMatt: “I’m really excited to announce that Ultra Vision Lighting and MadMatt 4WD have formed a partnership. One of the key reasons I was keen for this partnership is that we share common values. I love Australian manufacturing. I used to run a manufacturing business, and I love quality products because I’m sick of buying something cheap and then having to buy it again when it lets me down.”

Ultra Vision Lighting’s Quality and Durability

“I’ve found that with Ultra Vision Lighting, those two principles are core to their very being and their DNA. These are the original spotlights that I got from them 10 years ago, and they’re still performing as well as the day I put them on my first 80 series. I sold that vehicle and built another 80 series, a white one, and these lights came across and ran on that vehicle superbly.”

Evolution of Vehicle Builds

“Then I bought the blue 105 series, and my son Jesse bought his first 80 series. We did that up for him, and it was a beautiful vehicle. I put these lights on that vehicle, and on a family holiday in the Victorian High Country, he had a rollover and damaged the bull bar, which is still running today. As a result, we built this 80 series, which we called the COVID 80. Many of you have seen this vehicle before, and it’s still running those same spotlights.”

New Technology and Innovation

“Nowadays, I’ve got the 200 series, which is running their new 180W Nitro Max Spotlight and their single row 180W light bar on the roof, so I’ve got even more light with new technology and innovation.”

Comparing Old and New Lights

“Here’s some footage comparing the old and the new. I’ve got the two vehicles lined up down the airstrip here. Let’s put these lights on and see what 10 years of development has done. Let’s also see how good 10-year-old spotlights are. Turn them on. That’s not too bad, is it? These lights have been on several vehicles and are still working as good as the day we put them on the first vehicle.”

Durability and Longevity

“That’s a 120W light; let’s turn on the 180W lights, which is the latest from Ultra Vision Lighting. These are on another level again. They are great to drive under, and that’s where the quality of the Australian-made product really comes into play. It just keeps working, and you can take this product from vehicle to vehicle.”

Stories of Endurance

“There are so many stories these lights could tell. For example, you’ll see these little white dots—that’s polish from when I polished this vehicle years ago. The overspray stayed, but even the powder coating is still holding together. It’s not chipped or cracked; it’s still protecting the core metal of the light body. The stainless steel brackets have been over thousands of corrugations and rough roads and aren’t cracking or fatiguing. The lights are solidly mounted, just the way they should be.”

Lens and LED Performance

“The polycarbonate lens on the front, though it’s lost its covers, is still strong, not cracked or scratched, with no issues degrading the light quality. Every single LED still works. Technology in LED has come a long way, and there are improvements in the new lights, no doubt. But I love that Ultra Vision was creating an innovative product way back then—a product with a 5-year warranty, Australian-made, and made so well that they last.”

Value for Money

“If I paid $1,500 for these lights 10 years ago, that’s $150 a year for high-quality lights on my vehicle. They’re not done yet; there’s still value left in them. So, when considering Ultra Vision products, yes, you might think they’re a bit steep, but these lights will go from vehicle to vehicle with you, offering good quality light and value for money.

“That’s why I’m proud to be working with Ultra Vision Lighting as one of their ambassadors. I’m MadMatt. Stay safe on the trails.”
