Introducing: The Nitro Maxx LED Light Bar – Simply the Best LED Light Bar on the Market

Once upon a time, Four Wheel Drivers faced a choice when it came to aftermarket lighting: Either a broad spread of light over a short distance with a light bar or a narrower beam of light that penetrated much further from traditional driving lights. Alternatively, you could opt for the best of both worlds and fit your vehicle with one of each. The combination worked quite well together, if you could afford the price tag.

The cosy little equation started to unravel somewhat when LED driving lights began overtaking their cousins; HIDs and Halogen. As we discussed in a previous blog post about which driving lights are best for your 4×4, HID’s are fabulous for long distances but fail to provide the same quality light up close. Nobody is arguing the quality of light that Halogens give. However, to enjoy those benefits over long-distances, you need to increase the power flowing into them. More power means more heat. More heat means greater fragility and sensitivity to vibration. That’s not exactly what you’re looking for in a light for your off-road vehicle as you power through rough, inhospitable terrain.

The Rise of LED Driving Lights

Enter LEDs. Not that they are new to the market. However, their simple, robust construction makes them versatile and tough enough to withstand the rigours of fierce off-roading. As the technology developed, manufacturers began producing LEDs with drastically improved distance profiles. When some of these manufacturers hit the market with 4000K LEDs, suddenly there was a product that could deliver all the advantages of Halogens, with a solid-state construction that is far hardier and less prone to breakage. It’s little wonder, then, that LEDs have come to progressively dominate the market, while HIDs and Halogens go through the slow process of gradually exiting stage left.

Taking Up the Challenge

The final hurdle for LEDs has been to develop a product that would eliminate the need for two lights, and instead provide a single solution that could achieve outstanding visibility with high-quality light both near and far. This is the challenge that Ultra-Vision has been grappling with since April 2017 when we commenced work on the new Nitro Maxx LED Light Bar. In just under a year we have achieved our goal, and are thrilled to announce the launch of our new product. The incorporation of the Widr® optic reflectors in multiple segments is the key that has allowed us to strike the delicate balance between distance and spread to produce this country’s most versatile driving light. Best of all, the Nitro Maxx LED Light Bar has been both designed from the ground up, and manufactured in Australia which is a first, as far as we know. Our superb team of designers and engineers have worked together tirelessly to create what we believe is a product that will change the game for aftermarket driving lights.
