FAQs
What makes the Nitro 180 Maxx different from other 9-inch LED driving lights?
The Nitro 180 Maxx stands out with its Australian-designed and made engineering, premium optical technology and rugged build quality. Featuring Ultra Vision’s custom developed technology, it delivers long-distance performance and usable beam spread that prioritises proven real-world visibility. Built with die-cast alloy housing, impact-resistant lenses and rugged mounting hardware, the Nitro 180 Maxx is designed for serious off-road and highway driving where reliable lighting matters.
How far is the Nitro 180 Maxx beam?
The Nitro 180 Maxx delivers a powerful beam of 1 Lux at 2200m, capable of reaching useful illumination at distances suited to high-speed and long-distance driving. This makes the Nitro 180 Maxx a record breaking most powerful LED driving light. It’s engineered for real-world visibility well beyond the immediate road ahead, giving drivers more time to see and react to hazards. Ultra Vision’s approach focuses on usable light, the kind that improves clarity, contrast and confidence at night.
What is the difference between the Contrl® and Widr® optics?
Contrl® optics produce a tightly controlled, long-range beam that pushes light far down the road, ideal for open-road and high-speed conditions. Widr® optics widen the beam, increasing lateral illumination to reveal road edges, tracks and hazards off-centre. Together in the Nitro 180 Maxx, they give a balanced mix of distance and spread so you can see both far ahead and around you.
Are the Nitro 180 Maxx lights available in different beam patterns?
The Nitro 180 Maxx is made of a single beam but within the reflector there are Widr® and beam configurations. Spot beams prioritise distance, combo beams balance width and range, and wide beams are ideal for slower technical terrain or close-in visibility.
What colour temperatures are available, and which one should I choose?
The Nitro 180 Maxx is sold in both 4500K and 5700K colour temperatures. 4500K provides a warmer, softer light that can be easier on the eyes in fog, dust and rain, while 5700K offers a crisp white light replicating natural daylight, with strong contrast in clear conditions. Your choice will depend on typical driving environments and personal preference.
Can I install the Nitro 180 Maxx myself?
Yes, the Nitro 180 Maxx comes with a full plug-and-play wiring harness designed for ease of installation, including quality connectors and wiring for reliability. Heavy-duty mounting hardware and anti-theft nuts are included.
Are the Nitro 180 Maxx lights ADR compliant and suitable for road use?
When installed correctly, including proper mounting height and wiring to high beam, Nitro 180 Maxx lights can meet relevant ADR requirements for auxiliary road lighting. Using hi/lo functions and correct switching helps ensure legal road use while giving you powerful, compliant illumination at night.
How durable are the Nitro 180 Maxx lights in harsh off-road conditions?
Built tough with high ingress protection and robust materials, Nitro 180 Maxx lights are engineered for rugged Australian conditions. Lightweight but strong housings, impact-resistant lenses and quality thermal management keep them performing even under heat, vibration and dust, just what you need for extended off-road adventures or demanding work environments.
What warranty comes with the Nitro 180 Maxx?
The Nitro 180 Maxx carries a five-year warranty against breakage on the lights, with the option to extend by an additional year, plus a lifetime warranty on the stainless-steel brackets, giving you confidence in durability and long-term performance.
What’s included in the box?
What’s included for your install is a universal heavy duty wiring harness with an adhesive hi/lo switch, mounting brackets and hardware, lens covers and an anti-theft nut kit. Certain vehicle may require to patch leads and Canm8 modules which are available for different model vehicles and can be purchased separately. For those that want a factory style OE switch, check out our accessories for the hi/lo switch options.
Are the Nitro 180 Maxx lights suitable for touring, towing or rural night driving?
Yes, the Nitro 180 Maxx is ideal for long-distance touring, towing and rural night driving. With its blend of powerful long-range output and wide usable beam spread, it enhances visibility on highways and in wildlife-prone or poorly lit areas, giving drivers greater confidence and safety after dark.
